The Cultivator is proud to promote a love for reading through three essential initiatives: the Book Mobile, the Bookstore, and the annual Roanoke Chowan Literary Festival. Together, these embody The Cultivator’s mission of rural literacy, creativity, and storytelling.
The Cultivator Book Mobile
The Book Mobile is a traveling library that brings books directly to children, families, and seniors throughout Northeastern North Carolina. Visiting rural communities, schools, parks, and festivals, the Book Mobile ensures that everyone—regardless of location— has access to high-quality literature. With books available for all ages and interests, it fosters a culture of reading, ignites imaginations, and promotes lifelong learning. Aligned with The Cultivator’s commitment to education and equity, the Book Mobile breaks down barriers to access, ensuring that stories, knowledge, and creativity reach every corner of the region.
